Music streaming started as a good idea, a way to open up music and enable discovery. Now it’s nothing more than a data pipeline for advertisers. I believe music is meant to be savored, cherished, and respected, so I started my journey to move away from streaming and into building my own music library about a year ago. Now I'm back at owning music not to accumulate, but to preserve what I love and listen more actively.

I created Slowell as a quiet app for cataloging my vinyl and CD collection. No feeds, no likes, no algorithms. Just a simple way to track what’s on my shelf and add my own notes and reviews. I hope Slowell is also useful to you. May you live with ease. - Benjamin
